Panel discussion at the University of Arkansas

On May 11, 2011, the University of Arkansas was fortunate to host His Holiness the Dalai Lama for two appearances. The morning session was a panel discussion entitled Turnings Swords into Ploughshares: The Many Paths of Nonviolence, and the afternoon keynote address by His Holiness was called, Nonviolence in the New Century: The Way Forward.

For the panel discussion, the Dalai Lama was joined by two other panel members: Sister Helen Prejean (long-time death-penalty opponent and author of the book, Dead Man Walking), and Vincent Harding (American Civil Rights worker and author of Martin Luther King Jr.s speech, Beyond Vietnam). Professor Sidney Burris moderated the discussion, and Thupten Jinpa served as His Holinesss translator.

You may view both of these historic appearances below or at the website http://dalailama.uark.edu.
